We hope you have found inspiration in some of our favorite motivational and inspirational quotes.
One of our favorite motivational quotes was said by the famous Charles Dickens:
"Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. "
Another favorite from our collection of motivational quotes:
"It's so important that you just do your own thing- whatever makes you truly happy- and do it as best you can."
Bradley Trevor Greive, The Meaning of Life
Many people assume that motivation comes from other individuals or from other events. This is not necessarily true. Motivation can also come from motivational quotes like the one above. Even though a motivational quote can give you guidance, the real motivational spark comes from within you and it is your choice to grab that motivating spark and add fuel to it to make it burn with significant passion.
This fuel cannot be borrowed from others, it cannot be bought or stolen. The fuel to inspire further ignition must be from your own thinking, attitude and absolute motivational ownership that will propel you on the right path to whatever it is you wish.
If you find that you are stagnant, that you are simply going through the motions of life with little or no satisfaction, you are in need of moving beyond your current circumstances. So, what do you do?
One of the first tasks that you must complete is to sit down away from all the distractions in your life and to really be honest with yourself. You need to be able to let your soul speak to you, let your subconscious rule the thoughts you bring forth in order to find the truth. The truth you seek is only within you - it is not what your spouse wants or desires; it is not what your best friend wants, your true friends, and certainly not any influence in the world that speaks out to try and convince you that you should chose a certain road to travel.
The real truth is what your heart and soul says to you in no uncertain terms that this is what makes you happy - that is, truly happy. It may be that you have allowed extraneous forces to compel you to choose a certain career even though you never really had a burning internal desire to be whatever it is you now do. Do not let past decisions or actions speak louder than your real desires. For example, you may have, like a friend of mine, spent several years in university to become an engineer only to find that this was not what made them happy or even remotely fulfilled any passion. So, with a much clearer honesty, what did this friend do?
The choice was lying just below the surface ready to spring out and consume only when allowed. This particular passion lay in working with computer applications, software development, but certainly not mechanical engineering. The decision was released, the passion discovered, and the path now known. The story ends after spending additional thousands of dollars for formal training - but training that was easily digested, if fact, devoured with glee. Now, my friend lives each day motivated from within, living the truth, doing what they really wanted to do …so can you!
